Lunar Studies Unite Russian and Japanese Researchers

March 14 - Fostering cooperation in the field of lunar studies was discussed at a meeting of Japanese and Kazan professionals CFI.

KFU scientific community was represented by Vice Rector for Research Danis Nurgaliev and Professor Alexander Gusev; the delegation of the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ) by Professors N.Kavaguchi, H.Hanada and H.Noda.

During the work meeting, researchers made a summary of the stage results of joint work and discussed plans for further cooperation. They included scientific and organizational problems of astrometry, the rotation and the internal structure of the Moon and planets, satellites; and the exchange of students, postgraduates and young scientists between the KFU and NAOJ. "That would be the study of the Moon with the spacecraft and study the structure of the Earth,"- explained Alexander Gusev.

In their two-day stay, Japanese scientists are planning to visit the laboratory and museum of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technology and Engelhardt Astronomical Observatory.
