Student from the N.I. Lobachevsky Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics won a prestigious award of the Russian Academy of Sciences

On February, 19, 2013 was held a regular meeting of the Russian Academy of Sciences Presidium. During the meeting were summed up results of the contest of 2012 on competition for medals of the Russian Academy of Sciences with awards for young scientists from Russian Academy of Sciences and students of Russian higher educational institutions for the best scientific works. According to competition results in the field of mechanic engineering problems, mechanics and management processes the medal was given to Zakharova Olga. On that moment she was a second year student of Masters`s Degree of the KFU N.I. Lobachevsky Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics. Now she is a postgraduate student of the Department of  Fluid mechanic theory and assistant of the Department of General Mathematics of the N.I. Lobachevsky Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics for work “Optimal movement of a body with flexible mass in the environment with resistance”.

It is worth noting that the All-Russian competition for medals with an award of Russian Academy of Sciences for young scientists and students is held annually and in all scientific fields. It is also one of the most prestigious in the country with a very strict selection of the winners. Since 2007 none of students and young scientists  from the University got the prize.  This fact gives special significance to the success of the student from the Department of Fluid mechanic theory  and her supervisor Andrey Egorov.

The KFU N.I. Lobachevsky Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics congratulates Olga Zakharova and her supervisor Andrei Egorov with deserved victory and wishes success.

The award ceremony will be held on April 2, 2013, in building of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Alexandria Palace) in Moscow.
