Delegation of KFU Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations visited Turkey

From 3-8 March delegation of KFU Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations headed by Vice-Rector on International Relations, Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations Linar Latypov visited Turkey.

On March, 4 was organized meeting with Vice-Rector of the Gazi Üniversitesi Professor Ibrahim Uslan.  During the meeting were made agreements on organization of student trainings, joint academic programs, publications of scientific works of members of the KFU Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations in reviewed journal Gazi Türkiyat: Türklük Bilim Araştırmaları Dergisi (Journal of Turkology Research). The sides also agreed on inviting Professors of Gazi Üniversitesi for delivering lectures in 2013-2014 academic year in the framework of the KFU Development Program.

Protocol between KFU and Gazi Üniversitesi in academic exchange within the program “Mevlana” was signed. It is also planned to sign an Agreement between Universitites on joint cooperation.

On that day was also held meeting with General Secretary of the International Organization of Turkic Culture ( TÜRKSOY) Dusen Kaseinov where also participated Deputy General Secretary Firat Kurtaş, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Tatasrtan Aidar Gashigullin, representatives of CIS countries-participants and Russian regions, members of the Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations. They discussed realization of the project on forming the register of orientalists of Russia, CIS and foreign countries. Participants agreed on publication of works by KFU members in TÜRKSOY, organization and conduction of conference on Turkic studies jointly with TÜRKSOY in October, 2014.

Question concerning assistance in recruitment of Turkish students to study in KFU were discussed during the meeting with the First Secretary Shivanov A., the First Secretary Proshin S. who is responsible for Educational Affairs in the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Turkey.

On March, 5 the delegation had a meeting with the Dean of the Faculty of Literary Studies of the Istanbul University Professor Mustafa Ozkan. The sides agreed on exchange of students, Faculty members and conduction of International Turkic Congress in KFU within conduction of cultural events “Kazan – the capital of Turkic world-2014”, organization of conference on Social Studies in KFU jointly with Istanbul University and World Society of Sociologists.

On March, 6 the delegation had meeting with General Manager of the Dolmabahçe Palace, Doctor Kemal Kahraman. During this meeting was made an agreement on conduction of scientific-and-practical seminar in the framework of the exhibition of Turkic Art with the participation of specialists in fine arts, researcher-architects, museologists within these seminar will be organized lectures on modern art, calligraphy and ebru art.

On the meeting with Director of International Research Centre for Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCICA) Halit Eren were achieved agreements concerning the conduction of joint organization of conferences, trainings and organization of work with rare eastern manus­cripts and recruitment of specialists from IRCICA for joint study of manus­cripts in KFU.

In the framework of achieved arrangements it is planned to sign the Agreement between KFU and IRCICA on joint cooperation.

On the meeting with President of the Centre of Islamic Studies of Turkey (ISAM) Professor Mechmet Akif Aydin the sides agreed on publication of printed issues, preparation of educational-and-methodic textbooks, enrichment of KFU librarian funds with literature on Islam and post-graduate student exchange on purpose of studying the Islam development in Russia and Turkey.

Following the results on March, 7 was held a meeting with the Director of the Yunus Emre Institute, Professor Hayati Develi, where were discussed further actions to develop the Center for Turkish Studies and agreed to recruit not only specialists in the field of language and literature as well as history, economics, Islamic studies and other fields in the framework of network cooperation of the Yunus Emre Institute with Turkish universities, exchange of professors and lecturers of institutions, organizations in the Turkish language training for students CFI and teaching students from the Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations KFU Master's Degree and postgraduate study in Turkish universities and assist in the formation of the register of foreign orientalists.
