On March, 11 Kazan University welcomed delegation from the British Royal Society headed by Vice-President Martin Polyakov.

Special interest was paid to the Museum of Kazan Chemistry School, because Karl Klaus discovered new chemical element Ruthenium in Kazan University. A unique excursion was given by the Chair of the Scientific Board of the Russian Academy of Sciences on organic and organo-element chemistry Alexander Konovalov.  

Mr. Polyakov told that he came to Kazan to participate in the British-Russian
symposium “Horizons of Science”. In our museum he had a unique opportunity to see the Ruthenium samples. Moreover, he liked the main building of our University. “It was very honorable for me to come here and visit your Museum. I know that there are a lot of talented students, and I hope that due to this visit we will strengthen scientific relations between Tatarstan and Great Britain and develop cooperation between young scientists from our countries”.
