On March 07, 2013 women were congratulated in Kazan Federal University. A solemn ceremony of awarding talented employees of our University took place in the building of KFU Public Catering Complex.
This event, which was called “Woman of the Year”, was followed by a festive concert. Between concert numbers Rector of KFU, Mr. Ilshat Gafurov, and Vice-Rectors of Kazan University congratulated women and presented the best of the best women awards in various (more than ten) nominations, with the following nominations being among them: “Woman – an Example of the Year”, “Woman – a Scientists of the Year”, “Woman – a Professional in Her Field”, “Woman – a Public Recognition” and others.
The Chairwoman of “League of Women”, Deputy Director of the Institute of Continuous Education of KFU, Ms. Irina Terentyeva, who was the event organizer, told the audience that a competitive selection of women – candidates for the title “Woman of the Year” consisted of several stages: firstly candidates were selected in structural units, then the best candidatures selected by an institute, division or department appeared before the university commission.
The feast annually celebrated in some countries on the 8th of March as an International day of struggle for woman’s rights and peace throughout the world aroused a sea of emotions with all those women of Kazan Federal University present. A winner in one of the nominations, the Head of the Department of General and Social Pedagogy of KFU, Ms. Roza Valeyeva, shared her impressions with us: “Each woman representing this or that nomination is a lady of worth! She is a professional and, undoubtedly, a personality devoted to the University, who puts her whole soul and heart into a trade, which she has devoted her life to. I suppose that each of them deserves this award!”
The fact that the International Woman’s Day was celebrated magnificently was confirmed by smiles and laugh of the nice heroes of the day. Organizers are sure that such contests will become a good tradition in our University.
