KFU Center of Recruiting Volunteers is open

The Center of Recruiting Volunteers for Universiade-2013 was opened at Kazan Federal University on January, 21. The ceremony was attended by KFU Rector Ilshat Gafurov, Deputy Minister for Education and Science in the Republic of Tatarstan Andrey Pominov and Chief of Staff - Deputy Director General of ANO "Exe­cutive Directorate Kazan 2013" Larisa Sulima.

The mission of the Center is to develop the working methods with volunteers and methods of task distribution.

"We are so lucky to be born at the right time, we entered the right university and  now we are participants of the events which take place once in 30-50 years “, - KFU Rector addressed to the students with these words, thanking them for their active attitude.

RT Deputy Minister for Education and Science Andrey Pominov appreciated the value and role of the Center: "The way how the Center works will determine the impression about our republic and our country. I am sure that the Kazan Federal University will perfectly meet the challenge".

Larisa Sulima gladly supported this idea: "I ​​am sure that the students of Kazan Federal University will uphold the brand of the leading university of our republic and of the Volga district."

The Recruiting Center has four specialized areas – a greeting zone, a waiting zone, a zone of interviews and call-center. Eight people will simultaneously carry out the work meeting more than 100 volunteers a day. The selection of volunteers will be done by 30 recruits who have been trained and have the appropriate certificate.

The interviews began today. Moreover, the first symbolic volunteer interview was passed by…the KFU Rector Ilshat Gafurov. He became the owner of the Volunteer Certificate after responding to questions about his active attitude, the qualities valued in people, the remarkable sport events in 2012. As the first volunteer, KFU rector was honoured to leave his palm imprint (the open palm is the symbol of the Universiade).

Lots of students wished to be first among the interviewed. We found Svetlana Naumova, student of the Institute of Philology and Arts when she passed the interview. "The Universiade is such a great event and it is very important to the country. I really hope to be chosen!, explained she her desire to join the volunteers.

For reference: Kazan Federal University plans to train 4,100 volunteers and 160 teachers to the Universiade 2013. According to data of ANO "Exe­cutive Directorate Kazan 2013", 5544 KFU students-volunteers and 1032 graduates are registered as candidates for volunteers on 21January 2013.
