Kazan University and TU Dresden to Cooperate in Teacher Training

A memorandum of understanding was signed on October 26th.

The signatories were the Institute of Psychology and Education (KFU) and the Center of Teacher Training and Education Research (TU Dresden). The document outlines joint research, student and academic exchange, grant projects, and other relevant details.

IPE and the Faculty of Teacher Training of TU Dresden started collaborating in 2014. During this time there have been joint seminars, lecture cycles, roundtables, and internships for academics. Three guests from Dresden contributed to the 2nd International Forum on Teacher Education at KFU this past May. The Center of Teacher Training is now a KFU’s partner in the SAU Teacher 21 activities.

Rector Ilshat Gafurov visited Dresden in June 2016. Among other things, the sides discussed their plans to establish a center of migrant education handled jointly by KFU, TU Dresden, and University of Glasgow.

This time TU Dresden is represented by Professor Axel Gehrmann, Chair of General Didactics and Instructional Research, Head of the Synergetic Teacher Education project. Dr. Gehrmann plans to visit several institutes and both KFU lyceums, and on October 27th he is presenting the German teacher education system at an open seminar. The German delegation will also visit the Yelabuga Institute of KFU, another big center of pedagogical training.
