Kazan University to Serve as Base for CIS Cultural Heritage Center

«Preserving Humanity» forum wrapped up with adopting the Kazan Declaration on September 16th.

The participants discussed problems of technical and philosophical nature, including preservation of cultural heritage, international humanitarian cooperation, local languages, and other issues.

Kazan University, as was decided, will become the host institution for the new international cultural heritage center. The collaborators are Kazan State Institute of Culture, Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering, Revival Foundation, Ministry of Education and Science of Tatarstan, and Ministry of Culture of Tatarstan. The idea of the center was put forth by Alexandra Ochirova, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador.

The Kazan Declaration, signed by the participants, includes proposed measures for preserving traditional values, fighting terrorism and extremism, and creating safe and secure conditions for human development. The established workgroup will work on further corrections and implementation of the main provisions.
