Interfax agency has published its research rankings for 2016.

The criteria for inclusion were Scopus and Russian Science Citation Index citations, R&D funding, and high-performance computing and modelling projects.

KFU has risen two positions – no small feat considering how fierce the competition is at such a high level. The leaders are MSU, MEPhI, MIPT, NSU, TSU, and SPbSU.

238 universities in total were evaluated by Interfax. As was revealed two months ago, Kazan University is also among the best in Education and Brand Value categories.
