Kazan University and Lanzhou University to Promote Joint Projects in Robotics

The LZU delegation was at KFU on June 23rd.

Rector Wang Cheng and his colleagues met with Vice-Rector of KFU Linar Latypov and KFU’s academics.

There is already cooperation in robotics, and yesterday the two universities discussed new prospects in astronomy, medicine, and environmental sciences.

Ayrat Khasyanov, Director of the Higher School of ITIS, said that one of the School's employees has visited Lanzhou as a guest lecturer. The School and LZU have a joint research project in stress modelling – an interdisciplinary work involving IT, neurophysiology, and psychology. The next step is to invite a lecturer from LZU to Kazan for a semester course.

Rector Wang shared, «I know your city and the University from school textbooks. I couldn’t even imagine to someday end up here. Your university has a rich history with many famous names attached to it. I have heard of your recent achievements. I think it will be beneficial for us to establish cooperation with you. Together we can achieve more».

Dr. Latypov and Dr. Wang then proceeded to sign a memorandum of understanding.
