Tatarstan universities have great potential. In order to realize it they have to build the systematic work. It was declared by Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan at a traditional pre-New Year meeting with rectors of Kazan universities on December, 28.

The President of the Republic of Tatarstan emphasized that the economic success and competitiveness of Tatarstan depend on our intellectual capacity. The Republic has rich educational traditions, a serious scientific school, professional academic staff.  

Rustam Minnikhanov listed several serious issues to be considered by the universities: the quality of education, focus of the universities on their areas of training, search for the target prospective students within the Republic and in other regions.

The President of the Republic of Tatarstan said that the program of retraining of talented members of academic staff will be realized within “Algarysh” (the grant program). The talented and qualified teachers are the basis of  competitiveness.
