Establish connections with Japan

On 3 March 2016, the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication named after Leo Tolstoy was visited by the representatives of the Japanese University of Tsukuba associate professors of the faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Kunitoshi Hishikawa and Elena Tsigelnitskaya. The guests visited the Department of the Russian language as a Foreign Language and some classes for foreign students, got acquainted with the work of the Kazan International Linguistic Center and some other projects of the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication in the matter of promotion of both Russian and Tatar languages and the cultures.

As a result of the visit, the parties outlined the plans for the joint scientific and educational activities between the Japanese university and Kazan Federal University, the guests were invited to the V Congress of the International Association of teachers of the Russian language and Literature "Dynamics of linguistic and cultural processes in contemporary Russia", which will be held in October 2016 in Kazan.
