Kazan University and DAAD to Introduce New Forms of Cooperation

German Academic Exchange Service and Association of Leading Russian Universities signed a new agreement in Moscow.

The two sides will work out and implement a new support program for Russian and German young researchers in the next 4 years. Ministers of foreign affairs Sergey Lavrov and Frank-Walter Steinmeier were present at the signing. The ministers will supervise the 2016/2017 Russian-German Youth Exchange Year.

"Students, postgraduates and scientists of Kazan University, one of the leading universities in Russia, have long been actively involved in scholarship programs offered by DAAD in Russia. Mr. Zinecker noted that this new agreement opens exciting prospects for the further enhancement of scientific collaboration between Kazan University and its German counterparts. The agreement implementation will start from the 2016/2017 autumn semester.

PhD candidates, young researchers and academics can obtain 6-month grants, postdocs can count on sponsorships for up to 3 months, and students – until they receive a master's diploma (no more than 2 years in total).
