The second Joint seminar on Dormice genome project was organized by 'Extreme Biology' Lab

The second Joint seminar on Dormice genome project was organized by «Extreme Biology» Lab. Professor of Kwansei university Dr. Shusaku Minato, the Director of Dormice museum, Dr. Ishioka Noriaki (JAXA), Kana Kurita (Kyoto University) has given a talk about their last research results on the project. Extreme biology Lab members has shared their results with colleagues and discussed future plans. The members of the Russia-Japan research group developed the roadmap for 2016-2018, that include ground-based hind limb-suspension experiments, to understand gene regulation network beyond the muscle atrophy. The group is targeting on the completion of the assembly and annotation of the dormice genome in 2016 that will allow to get deeper understanding of mechanisms and evolution of hibernation in mammals.
