Official Visit of the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations Linar Latypov in China

On October, 13 was held a ceremony on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the Confucius Institute at Kazan Federal University in Hunan Normal University (Changsha, China). Not only colleagues from two universities- Hunan and Kazan were present, but also the Government representatives - Deputy Director of the External Relations Department of Hunan Province were present.
The ceremony opened Rector of the Hunan Normal University expressing gratitude to Kazan Federal University for the contribution it made to the development and spread of Chinese language and culture. He noted that for more than 20 years of cooperation we have achieved great success and the most successful joint project was opening of the Confucius Institute at Kazan Federal University five years ago.
The representative of Hunan Province warmly welcomed the participants and congratulated on this important event and spoke about the prospects of cooperation between Hunan University and KFU and the positive results for the province of Hunan.
KFU Vice - Rector for External Relations, Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations Linar Latypov said that the Confucius Institute has played a great role in the study of the Chinese language in Kazan University and is an important vehicle for our students to learn and understand the culture of Chinese people. “Our history has shown several times that Russia and China are two great states that are bound by friendly relations and friendship between Kazan Federal University and Hunan Normal University is an important component in understanding the two countries", said KFU Vice-Rector. He expressed the hope that the university will continue to strengthen and develop student and teacher exchanges, promote joint development of sinological and russian schools.
Director of the Confucius Institute at Kazan University, Professor Zainullin summed up the work of the Confucius Institute at Kazan University. Various workshops, contents, quizzes, public lectures and international conferences with guest lecturers and experts from China were organized for Chinese studies promotion in our region and a better understanding of Chinese culture.
On the same day there was a Board meeting of the Confucius Institute, where were discussed the results of work and development plan for the next 5 years. In addition, CI KFU Board members were re-elected. In the end, they visited a photo exhibition dedicated to the event.
The KFU representatives will visit the motherland of the first chairman of the Chinese Communist Party, Mao Zedong, as well as learn about the Hunan University institutions, their laboratories and research centers during their stay in Hunan Normal University.
The participation in the 7th International Conference of Confucius Institutes that will held in Beijing from 16th up to 18th December is also planned. Vice-Rector for External Relations Linar Latypov will report on the development of Chinese studies at Kazan Federal University.
