2015 Was a Good Year for Publication Activities at Kazan University

2,019 papers were indexed in WoS and Scopus databases last year.

The number of peer-reviewed papers published by our researchers increased fivefold since 2010, the year when new Development Program was adopted. This allowed KFU to occupy position 301-350 in the latest Times Higher Education rankings (the University managed to reach 85th position in citations).

As Lobachevsky Library's analysis shows, the number of papers for 2015 is 2,019 as of January 25th, 2016 – compared to 1,845 in 2014. The number of publications in priority areas rose from 609 to 774 (of the latter 198 were in biomedicine, petrochemistry – 244, new materials – 175, IT and space tech - 153). IF in WoS rose from 1,383 to 1,873, IF in Scopus increased from 870 to 1,061. The data is as of February 11th, 2016.

Deputy Director of the Lobachevsky Library Yuliya Leksina reminded, «It’s important to remember that the number of papers for 2015 will rise until April – May. Also, it’s not very correct to compare citations for different years; obviously, the papers from a year and more ago have more citations than fresh ones».

Top Journal Percentiles SJR for authors from KFU showed a staggering rise from 5% to 25%.

Among the most popular publications are those in biomedicine, genetics and molecular biology, physics and astronomy, chemistry, agriculture, chemical technology.
