Government of the Republic of Tatarstan allocates grant of $ 1 million for IT- researches

This year the Republic of Tatarstan allocates an unprecedented grant of $ 1 million for researches in the field of information technologies at the Graduate School ITIS KFU. The purpose of the allocated grant is to attract active researchers from around the world to strengthen and expand the studies in the field of information technology to our Republic.
Today our Republic claims to be the Russia's "Silicon Valley". One of the main objectives of the actively forming IT-cluster is to improve the social and economic potential of the Republic of Tatarstan by implementation of information technologies in the real economic sector. However, it is impossible to solve this problem without personnel and research capacities development in IT. It's not a secret that the local IT-industry is experiencing a serious shortage of personnel. This is one of the main obstacles for IT-cluster development. Therefore for maintaining and improving its competitiveness in high technology sphere the Republic should firstly actively promote personnel and scientific potential.
Therefore the government of the Republic of Tatarstan has supported the initiative of the Graduate School ITIS and allocated a grant of $ 1 million for IT- researches in Kazan University.
An important condition for getting grant is that within three years, a guest expert should prepare  successors from KFU students. It was planned that the grant holder will take the position of the head of one of the departments in ITIS for the efficient organization of the educational process. The decision to award with grant will be made by an expert commission consisting of respectable foreign and domestic IT-researchers.
