Refurbished Dorm in City Center Opened Doors for Students

Dormitory N 8 on Pushkin Street was opened on February 15th after major renovation.

The works started in autumn 2015. After a few months the completely overhauled building can invite over 600 students. Heating, sewage, electricity and water supply were fully changed, as well as windows, bathroom fixtures, and roofing. Naturally, everything was also adjusted according to the latest accessibility regulations.

This dorm is one of the 10 dorms united into a «Student City» unit along with the Universiade Village which is the second large cluster of dorms. This is another example of the deep modernization of the accommodation facilities, said Rector Ilshat Gafurov while giving the symbolic dorm key to the Head of the Dorm Student Council Natalya Gladkova.

Those students who had previously had the experience of inhabiting this particular dorm also noted that it became noticeably warmer.

Rector and students then proceeded to look around the dorm and treated themselves to tea and pancakes thoughtfully prepared by the new residents who had moved in the day before.
