Kazan University Data Center Unveiled

The new computing cluster's performance is 32.6 teraflops, with additional volume of 4.6 teraflops to be added soon.

Representatives of the IT Department showed the data center to the interested guests. The supercomputer is going to be utilized both in education and research.

In particular, the equipment can be used for genomic computing, protein modeling, sociological data processing, and other purposes.

All the major departments and academic units have access to the cluster, and a series of presentations and teaching sessions is planned for all individuals who plan to make use of it. Rector Ilshat Gafurov confirmed that the processing power can be increased in the future if required.

The IT Department is also tasked with promoting the cluster among external clients.
