2016 Students Day Marked by Festivities and Awards

Traditional celebrations and ceremonies were held on January 25th – 26th.

Tatiana Day, also known as Russian Students Day, is a traditional holiday observed in Russia by students and university academia. The date originally is the day of the establishment of Moscow State University in 1755. It also quite conveniently falls on the usual date of the winter exams wrap-up.

2015 Student of the Year Award for Tatarstan ceremony was held on January 25th. Kazan University won numerous awards, among them: Road Safety Award (the University), URA Youth Radio (Naberezhnye Chelny Institute) for Best Student Radio Station, student Viktoriya Yegorova as Best Journalist, student Nafis Serazetdinov as Best Community Organizer, student Dinara Fayskhanova as Intelligence of the Year, Association of Students of the Universiade Village as Best Dorm Organization, Students Union of KFU as Best Student Community Organization, Sports Club of KFU as Best Sports Club, and student Endje Yagfarova as Best Volunteer.

Later that day a friendly bandy match was held at the University, with students, academics and professional players participating.

Rector Ilshat Gafurov gave an interview to Tatarstan magazine. He touched upon the latest developments at Kazan University, talked about his perception of today's students and plans for the future.

A traditional concert was held on the eve on January 26th as well.

Last but not least, a much anticipated new version of the University website was launched on January 26th. The new concept presents a radically different approach to usability and comprehensiveness, with everything necessary just a few clicks away. The design and the color scheme both reflect the latest changes in our brand style.
