QiQUM-2015 conference was held at the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology on December 7th – 8th.

The conference was concomitant with the official launch of Cochrane Russia, the first such office in Russian Federation. The office is headed by Professor Liliya Ziganshina.

Mark Wilson, CEO of Cochrane Collaboration, said that the goal is to describe 80% of all available treatment technologies using the Cochrane standards. The des­criptions will be available free of charge for the poorest countries (currently only in Africa). There are 8 500 des­criptions now available, all of which will soon be translated into Russian.

Professor Edward J. Burger was awarded with the diploma of the Honorary Academician of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences.

The Institute of FMB of KFU has for some time been involved in personalized medicine research. They plan to establish a testing process where a patient's genomic map will be used for pres­criptions with the least side effects, and after that – producing new medications with address delivery.

The first such conference was held in 2010 and was a huge boost to the Cochrane movement. This current iteration is dedicated to the problems of personalized medicine, GMO, genetic therapy and the movement's strategy for the future.

The second day was marked by the seminar on evidence-based medicine.
