Round Table with Innovation Project Implementers

A Round Table with innovation project implementers of KFU was organized in Kazan Federal University on October 09, 2012.

The main topic of the meeting was promotion of KFU innovation projects in the US and the world market entering by small-scale innovation companies (SSIC). Vice-Rector for International Relations, Mr. Linar Latypov, Vice-Rector for Innovations, Mr. Nail Kashapov, and Deputy Economic Counselor of the U.S. Embassy in the RF, Mrs. Rebecca Neff, took part in the Round Table.

Reference information. Mrs. Rebecca Neff is well-known in the business world thanks to her lectures on innovations and entrepreneurship in the American context. The addresses she gives answer such questions as: what is the importance of innovations in the context of new job creation and contribution to economic growth? How does the US Government encourage innovation development? How can co-operation between the USA and Russia develop in this sphere?

At the beginning of the meeting Linar Latypov made an interactive presentation of KFU. After that directors of SSICs of KFU, who will go to the US for training in November, were introduced to our guest from America.

Biotechnologies and IT-technologies, as well as power engineering were named among leading fields of modern researches conducted in KFU. During the discussion the Vice-Rector, Mr. Nail Kashapov, made an offer to bring specialists working in identical small-scale innovation companies of the USA to Kazan in order to organize a joint work. The problem of intellectual property protection in Russia aroused a special interest of the meeting participants.
