Reference information. Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University was established in 1940 as a member University of Rajabhat network. The word “Rajabhat” can be translated from Hindi as “a son of a king”, consequently, universities included in this system can be called “Royal”. This University resembles polytechnic universities by its structure, and the status “Royal” is destined to serve as a kind of screen protecting it from excess criticism and instrument of authority heightening. International College is one of academic divisions of the University and trains bachelors in five specialities.

During the meeting the parties shared information about the structures of their universities and fields of training. The Chairman of the Board of the University, Korn Dabbaransi, told the KFU representatives about the objectives of their visit, including, in particular, the aspiration to organize an international college training bachelors in tourism in Kazan University. Thailand is preparing to joint ASEAN organization, and that is namely the reason why chief executives of Suan Sunandha Rajabhat Unversity are aspiring to co-operation with Kazan University, according to Korn Dabbaransi.

“Kazan University is proud of its scientists, and many of them are well-known all over the world. That is why we want to start our co-operation in Russia with Kazan University”, – noted Mr. Korn Dabbaransi. First of all, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat Unversity is planning to organize collaboration with KFU in Physics. The second sphere of contacts will be tourism, as far as Thailand is experiencing lack of Russian-speaking specialists in this sphere due to increased number of tourists coming from Russia. “We want our guides to greet Russian tourists in airports in the pure Russian language and also to communicate with them in Russian when organizing excursions for Russians around Thailand”, – explained Mr. Korn Dabbaransi.

As a summary Korn Dabbaransi added: “We’ll study science with your help, and you will master the tourism industry with our help. Science is science, but tourism is an art of hospitality, which must be studied, as well.” Moreover, the guests offered their assistance in organizing the future Universiade.

The Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Mr. Linar Latypov, noted that IT-projects and approaches to industry of tourism, applied in Suan Sunandha Rajabhat Unversity and in Thailand as a whole, could be of great interest for Kazan University.
