Young Academics of Kazan University Partake in Advanced Training Program Administered by Moscow School of Management

The program is called “Leaders of Change for Global Universities” and is aimed at the employees of the Project 5-100 universities. Currently there are 78 people enrolled in the program. They had to go through a competitive admission process.

Kazan University is represented by Mikhail Abramsky (Lecturer at the Higher School of ITIS), Mikhail Varfolomeev (Associate Professor at the Institute of Chemistry), Albert Rizvanov (Professor at the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology), and Mikhail Chebotaryov (Head of the Subdivision of Study Process Support).

The first program module “Challenges and Growth Areas of Leading Russian Universities” took place on November 2nd – 6th. Minister of Education and Science Dmitry Livanov addressed the participants. He mentioned the importance of Project 5-100 and added that 6 new universities will be admitted to the project since 2016.

The financing will also grow from 10 billion to 14 billion rubles next year. Subsidies will be allocated on a competitive basis – those who demonstrate the best dynamics will receive the largest sums.

The program includes lectures from prominent Russian and overseas experts, foresight sessions and group workshops. Each group has to propose its original concept in university development in such areas as educational policy, research policy, innovation policy, student recruitment, staff recruitment, marketing, campus development, engineering development, and liberal arts development.

The participants will then present their strategy theses during the concluding session in May 2016.
