Winners of Freshman Day Festival Announced

The gala concert took place on the eve of October 19th.

More than 9 thousand excited spectators visited 8 concert evenings where over 1 800 amateur actors, singers, and comedians from 17 institutes performed more than 70 songs, over 40 dances and about  the same number of theatrical sketches. The gala itself comprised 25 best performances.

Among the award announcers were First Vice-Rector Riyaz Minzaripov, Vice-Rector for Education Dmitry Tayursky, VIce-Rector for Social Affairs Arif Mezhvedilov, and others.

The winners were: among the minor institutes – Higher of School of ITIS, among the mid-sized institutes – Institute of Social and Philosophical Sciences and Mass Communications, among the large institutes – Naberezhnye Chelny Institute and Yelabuga Institute.

There were also special awards: best directorial debut went to the Institute of Physics, best direction – to the Institute of International Relations, History and Oriental Studies, and best writing – to the Institute of Social and Philosophical Sciences and Mass Communications.

Many of the spectators and judges noted that this year’s contest was marked by amazing performances. There are all reasons to believe that this trend will continue into the following years.
