During the period 7th to 23rd October, the Department of Environmental and Labor Law and Civil Procedure, Kazan (Volga region) Federal University Law Faculty will host a set of lectures by eminent foreign scholars and practitioners. The lectures will be presented within the framework of the Master degree programs “European civil procedure and executory process” and “Alternative methods of dispute resolutions”, and supported by “Algarysh” grant of Government of the Republic of Tatarstan and by the Center for International Legal Studies (Salzburg).

William B. Simons,  Visiting Professor at the Institute of Constitutional and International Law, Faculty of Law, University of Tartu (Estonia). Also, he  is Emeritus Professorof East European Law at Leiden University, the Netherlands. He received his undergraduate, graduate and law degrees at educational institutions in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Vermont (USA) and in the Netherlands.

Elisabetta Silvestri, Professor of Italian civil procedure and comparative civil procedure;  at the scientific Director of the post-graduate program for the training of mediators and ADR professionals, University of Pavia (Pavia, Italy). Educated in Italy and the United States (LL.M., Cornell Law School; visiting scholar, Yale Law School), she is a member of the International Association of Procedural Law and of the European Law Institute. Prof. Silvestri is co-Director of the annual PPJ (Public and Private Justice) Seminar & Conference held at IUC Dubrovnik (Croatia) and has lectured extensively in Italy and other European countries.

Stuart H. Schultz, Brigham Young University (United States); J.D., University of Utah. A shareholder, Associate General Counsel for the Strong & Hanni Law Firm and leader of the firm’s Professional Liability Practice Group. He has awards of Outstanding Lawyers of America (2003), Mountain States Super Lawyers 2014 and 2015.
