Guillermo Barreto to swim at FINA Masters

At Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research in Bad Nauheim, Germany, Dr. Guillermo Barreto is Leader of Lung Cancer Epigenetics Group. Several students from the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology had interned in Dr. Barreto's Lab with the financial support provided under the memorandum of understanding between Kazan Federal University and Max Planck Society.

The researcher visited Kazan several times to deliver lectures for the Department of Microbiology, and since 2014 he is a Senior Research Fellow at the Pathogenesis Markers OpenLab directed by Prof. Olga Ilinskaya.

FINA World Masters Championships is an international Aquatics championships for adults (per FINA rules, Masters are 25 years-old and older). The 2015 event is expecting 6000 athletes from 110 countries to compete in 5 sports: swimming, open-water swimming, synchronized swimming, water polo and diving. Starting in 2015, the competition are held jointly with the FINA World Aquatics Championships
