"Methodical provision of training in the field of human rights protection"

June 23, 2015 Faculty of Law of the Kazan (Volga) Federal University hosted an international round table on the methodical provision of training in the field of human rights protection, held within the III Summer School on Human Rights “International Protection of Economic, Social and Cultural Rights”, organized by the Consortium of Russian universities (Russian Peoples' Friendship University, Kazan (Volga) Federal University, the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (University) MFA Russia, Perm State National Research University, Russian State Humanitarian University, Voronezh State University, Ural State Law University, University of the Humanities (Ekaterinburg), Ural Federal University) with the support of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.

Co-organizers of the round table were the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan and Faculty of Law of the Kazan Federal University.

The roundtable was attended by representatives of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, universities-members of the consortium, the Ombudsman and the staff of the Ombudsman in the Russian Federation, Voronezh and Sverdlovsk Regions, Perm Krai, the Republic of Mari-El, Republic of Tatarstan, representatives of executive bodies: the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Office of the Federal Penitentiary Service in the Republic of Tatarstan, of  judiciary: the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Tatarstan, public organizations: the Bar Association of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Public Monitoring Commission of the Republic of Tatarstan, Institute of Human Rights (Moscow), Interregional Association of Human Rights Organizations "AGORA" and others.

The roundtable participants discussed methodological issues of training in human rights from the standpoint of higher education institutions and employers. Presentations were made by Rashid Aluash - responsible for the human rights program at the United Nations system in the Russian Federation, Lenaris Mingazov - Professor of International and European Law at KFU, Tatyana Margolina - Ombudsman in the Perm Krai, Pavel Chikov - Chairman of the Interregional Association of Human Rights Organizations "Agora".

Each report was followed by a lively discussion on topical issues of training in the field of human rights and their relevance in the public administration, the judiciary and civil society institutions.
As a result of discussion was the adoption of the final resolution.
