KFU Is a Part of BRICS Educational Network Talks

More than 50 representatives of BRICS countries' scientific communities, embassies, ministries gathered in Moscow. Among them was Vice Rector for Education Dmitry Tayursky.

The working group was created within the framework of the Brazil Declaration of the Ministers of Education of BRICS.

First order of business was the establishment of BRICS Network University. The delegates discussed the principles and the basics of this project.

Dmitry Tayursky said that the final decision will be made during the heads' of governments summit in 2016. One of the questions discussed was whether the Network University will be a consortium or a separate higher education institution. There is also a possibility that the BRICS Universities League will be created in the near future. Of course, there is much to be done considering the necessity of matching the curricula and the evaluation standards.

This was the working group's first major meeting.
