KFU will provide instruction for Swiss MSc students

KFU Rector Ilshat Gafurov and ICDO Board Chairman Aleksadr Orlov met to discuss further cooperation between the parties. Kazan University is a point of strong interest for our Swiss colleagues first of all because it has a first-class equipped education center for extreme medicine studies.


Note: The International Civil Defence Organisation (ICDO) is an intergovernmental organisation with the objective to contribute to the development by States of structures ensuring the protection and assistance of population and safeguarding property and the environment from natural or man-made disasters. The establishment was found in 1932 in Geneva, Switzerland, where the headquarter remains nowadays. Incumbent ICDO Secretary-General is Dr. Vladimir Kuvshinov.

Current structure of the organization includes 53 member and 16 observer states. Russia Federation is a fully-fledged member of ICDO with a status of “strategic partner”. Under the auspices of ICDO Russian department carries out projects about international cooperation in Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, North Korea, Nicaragua, Libya, Serbia, Tuvalu and others.  


The cooperation expected will bond the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology. Andrey Kiyasov, Director of the Institute, announced that Kazan should play a central role in the international project. The curriculum for the program is under construction and first attendees will be welcomed in October, 2015. Law and other general subjects student will take in Switzerland, afterwards they will come to Kazan to obtain specific knowledge and skills.
