On 12 of August 2012 graduate of the Institute of physical culture, sports and restorative medicine of the Kazan University Alexey Obmachaev as a member of the Russian National team became Olympic champion. In the world-title match Russian volleyball players beat in five sets the Brazilian team with the score 3:2. Alexey Obmachaev is libero of Kazan volleyball team “Zenit” and the Russian National  Team as well. We congratulate our graduate with the victory and wish him and his team robust health and further progress in sports!

It’s pleasant to mention that this is not the first victory of the Kazan University students – Yuliya Zaripova won the gold medal in steeplechase.
