The delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan at the head of Rustam Minnikhanov has visited Iran 8-10 March 2015.   Participants of the meeting managed to find out the points of coincidence for a number of strategic issues.

Relations between two countries can't be described as simple. Many things happened within the century's long history. The contact is strengthening during the last few years and mutual programs in science, education and high technologies are being launched. Particularly these issues became the most relevant during the meeting with participation of Ilshat Gafurov, rector of Kazan Federal University.

"There has been a number of meetings dedicated to Kazan Federal University. Issues of cooperation of KFU and Iran universities were discussed by Ilshat Gafurov with Suren Sattari, Vice-President of Iran for education and technologies.  In particular, we talked about insufficient quantity of Iranian students in Russia", said Ilshat Gafurov.   

Educational level of Iran is quite high. Iranian students are studying abroad, but they have to deserve this right.

International passport is issued to the most devoted people living according to the Sheriat principles and able to follow the traditions abroad. Currently, about 10 000 Iranian students study in USA, and only 400 in Russia.   

"It's worth taking part in various international exhibitions and to present universities. Mister Sattary highly appreciated KFU opportunities during his visit to Tatarstan in October, 2014.  We have launched the work with Iranian universities, particularly with Shakhid Beheshti university. We have already agreed upon the partnership and during this trip we have signed up an invitation between the Institute of Physics of KFU and Institute of Physics of Shakhid Beheshti university and that at least 10 PhD students will annually study in KFU", claimed Ilshat Gafurov.      

The agreement defines scientific support of researches by tutors from Kazan and Tegeran. Every PhD student get two scientific tutors at once and get equal career opportunities in Russia and in Iran.

There will be summer schools for Iranian students in KFU and Kazan students, studying Persian language and culture, will get an opportunity to pass the internship in Iran.  

The necessity of the subs­cription of the agreement between the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology of KFU and relevant institution of Shakhid Beheshti university.

Iranian students were particularly interested in researches and methodic of archeological excavations in Bulgar and Sviyazhsk.   

Information technologies were also in the focus of interest. Tegeran is quite a big dense city wityh the population of 14 million people. The researches in terms of 'Smart city' project developed by High School of Information technologies and information systems of Kazan Federal University might be useful for the capital of Iran.

The program of the visit consisted not only from official ceremonies

During the visit to Iran the delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan has also visited leading enterprises of Iran.   

'Paradis' is the special economic zone Technopark which is realizing a number of different projects, varying from the creation of new medicament pills to new IT products. 

Especially by the visit of the guest from Tatarstan the head of the Technopark has decided to provide Kazan partners with the office in the special economic zone.

There is a number of future plans for the joint development, in particular with the University of Tibriz. The visit of the delegation from the second biggest university of Iran is previewed this spring. The theme of the visit is joint scientific researches and the launch of joint educational programmes.

''I believe that this partnership will be mutually effective. Financial issues are one of the most significant among the reasons complicating dynamic development of joint projects. So, we have come to the agreement that all the expences in Kazan are mosty covered by Kazan Federal University and all the expences in Iran are covered by the receiving party'', explained Ilshat Gafurov.  

The hinge of the agreements met at the result of Iranian visits is the formation of the mechanisms enabling development of mutually useful projects conversation beyond restrictions existing in Iran and partly in Russia.
