Memorandum of cooperation between Kazan Federal University and Intel Corporation was signed on the 27th of January 2015.
"Intel Corporation is continuing the launch of the projects in Russia", claimed Alexander Avdeev, Director for the Program Projects' business development for Russia and CIS on the Meeting with Ilshat Gafurov, Rector of Kazan Federal University.
Software development is the main development field of Intel Corporation in Russia. Russian specialists are playing a significant role in programming which has been historically determined; Kazan and Russian mathematicians have always been in the leading positions.
Even though the Memorandum of understanding was signed just on the 27th of January, there had already been a long path of cooperation. KFU and Intel have co-organized various seminars and conferences. In fact, there will be a number of meetings and open lectures for KFU students in March 2015 with participation of Intel experts.
According to Alexander Andreev, the key issues of collaboration with Kazan Federal University are the developments of new technologies in the field of priority for the region, such as geology, petroleum production, refiling, and medicine; the launch of joint enterprises.
There are two academic lyceums at university and one of them is IT-oriented, marked Ilshat Gafurov, KFU rector. "We are planning to organize international IT Olympiad among secondary school students in 2016. So KFU is highly interested in high-level professionals responsible for the training. So, increasing our center we can also extend our influence area", supposed Ilshat Gafurov.
Taking in consideration technological development, leading companies are highly interested in specialists who can work effectively from the first day of graduation. This can be organized in case of collaboration of the educational institution and business, and Kazan Federal University is successfully developing in that direction. Partnerships with Cisco and Intel companies are a bright illustration of that.
