Open shell compounds and molecular spin devices are discussed at the Russian-Japanese workshop in KFU

On Monday, September 29, the 8th Russian-Japanese International Workshop on Open Shell Compounds and Molecular Spin Devices started at KFU Institute of Physics.

Over 20 experts in physical chemistry have arrived from Japanese universities to take part in the workshop. Russia is represented by scientists from Kazan, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod and Novosibirsk. The event is traditionally organized by academician Renad Sagdeev, Victor Ovcharenko, corresponding-member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Kakeji Takui, professor of the Osaka University (Japan).

The aim of the workshop is to provide basically bilateral but international/global forum for discussions of interdisciplinary issues on open shell compounds and molecular spin science/technology among chemists, physicists, biologists and material scientists. Particularly, the workshop focuses on syntheses of novel open shell systems as diverse as possible: organic and inorganic chemistry, physics, biological science, materials and polymer science/engineering. Theoretical approaches to spin science/technology and spin-based quantum cybernetics are also encouraged.

The scientific program includes the lectures of leading and young scientists from both experimental and theoretical sides.
