Reflecting on the first half of 2014, we would like to remind the events held in the university as a part of KFU Development Programme. Over 30 key Russian and foreign lecturers and experts became the professors of KFU. The KFU Department of HR Development has looked back to those who worked in the university.
Sasha Tsenkova is the Professor of Planning & International Development, Ph.D. Planning & Geography (University of Toronto), M.A. Urban Studies (University of Sussex), Ph.D. Architecture (Technical University, Prague), M. Architecture (University of Sofia). Prof. Tsenkova's research and professional activities include a range of housing and urban projects in more than 20 countries in Central and Eastern Europe, Latin America and Central Asia.
Her scholarship is internationally recognized by a number of prestigious awards for international scholars, such as Killam Fellowship, Urban Studies Fellowship, Sasakawa Scholarship, International Peace Scholarship, and British Council Award. She is frequently published in highly cited journals.
The professor's urban management lectures enabled the students of the Institute of Management and Territorial Development learn about modern urbanization processes and enrich their theoretical knowledge and skills in the field of territorial structure. Following her visit, it is planned to develop joint double diploma Master's programmes to attract foreign students and expand KFU international relations
The KFU Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies invited top experts in acoustic logging - Valery Kozyar, D.Sc., Chief Researcher of the Operative Interpretation Department of GIS OOO"Neftegazgeofizika", and Nikolay Kozyar, Ph.D. in Engineering Science, Head of the Operative Interpretation Department of GIS OOO"Neftegazgeofizika" - to lecture at GIS Advance Course. Inviting practitioners with high professional achievements to teach applied courses and organize students' project activities resulted in the fact that students and professors of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies were made aware of modern theoretical and methodological insights of acoustic logging.
