The “Man of the Year & Woman of the Year: Women’s Perspective” finals were held at the Emperor’s Hall on March 6th.
Almost all of the ladies who happened to gather in the ballroom were nominated. Rector Ilshat Gafurov explained why they are all winners:
“The educational system is not just a combination of knowledge, it’s a great responsibility that partly lies on the shoulders of the better part of our team. Each of you dedicates herself fully to this work while also maintaining a household. You treat our students as kin while also bringing up your children.
For this I want to say thank you very much – for your patience, your wisdom, for everything you do for the University, for our country. Each of you deserves the awards that we are giving away today. I congratulate you with the International Women’s Day and wish you to always be surrounded by people who bring you joy and also to never regret that you work at Kazan Federal University”.
The grand prix went to Roza Aminova, Professor of the Institute of Physics with 50+ years of University career. Her husband and her son are also professors here.
Among the other nominations were traditional – Mother of the Year, Young Leader of the Year, Art Talent of the Year, Researcher of the Year, Social Activist of the Year, Cultural Leader of the Year, Innovative Leader of the Year, and Sportswoman of the Year. Special individual nominations were also present.
The ladies quickly returned the favor, however. The second part was called “Man of the Year: Women’s Perspective”. The contest is organized annually by the University Women’s League. Three nominations were announced – Leader of the Year, Noble Heart, and Man of the House.
Various art performances then followed, and some even included family teams of KFU employees. The evening’s atmosphere was light-hearted and warm. The Rector even suggested reviving the Professor Show – formerly quite popular regular events of academic talent in arts.
