The guests spent three days at Kazan University – from February 1st to February 3rd.
The delegation visited the Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies, the Institute and Chemistry, and the Geological Museum. A number of meetings with KFU's executives took place.
During Rector Ilshat Gafurov's visit to Iran in 2015 our two universities reached several agreements. Among them were Russian language courses for Iranian students, joint PhD training in math, Islamic studies, informatics, etc. An Iranian expert in islamic finance was invited to Kazan to hold seminars.
During this February visit, the guests mainly paid attention to petroleum industry and tech. Up 10 to postgraduates from Iran will come to KFU in the nearest future to specialize in those fields.
Vice-Rector and Director of the Institute of GPT Danis Nurgaliev said that they will study oil reservoirs, 3D modeling, recovery enhancement, and other special subjects. Joint projects for Iranian oil companies will then follow.
Moreover, geology students from KFU may soon intern at Iranian oil companies. The negotiation about advanced training for the employees of said companies is also ongoing.
