On April, 3 the seminar “Classical Turkish Art: traditions and modernity” was held at the Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations. This event was dedicated to the exhibition “Secret treasury. Classical Turkish Art” which was organized at Manege of Kazan Kremlin.
Orientalists and specialists in Turkic philology from KFU Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations, Institute of Language and Literature of Tatarstan Academy of Sciences, Union of Artists and Kazan State University of Art and Culture, undergraduate and postgraduate students who are engaged into Turkic studies participated in the event.
Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations Linar Latypov told guests about the history of Kazan school of Oriental Studies. Director on Administrative and Financial Affairs of the National Palaces at the Turkish Government, representative of the fund on palaces preservation Kemal Kakhraman told about his duties and described each palace that is under charge of Office of Turkish Republic National Palaces.
Turkish traditional artists whose works are presented in Kazan Kremlin also participated in the event. Ebru artist, Khimet Burutchigill made a presentation on the art of painting on water.
Calligraphist Levent Karaduman delivered a report: “Image of a word: calligraphy art”.
Kazan side presented reports on: “Turkish motives in the art of Shamail in the beginning of 20 century”, “Patterns of Osman architectural constructions of 13- 17 centuries” and others.
