Kazan Federal University is admitting refugees from the Ukrainian southeast to the budget-funded Crimea quota till August 20.
Sergey Ionenko, the Responsible Secretary of the Admission Office, announced that 6 refugees became KFU students.
Quotas for the school graduates from Crimea have been allocated to all Russian universities. However, Crimeans and Ukrainian refugees haven’t applied to Kazan National Research Technological University, Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering and Kazan State Medical University.
Sergey Ionenko explained that high school graduates from Donetsk, Lugansk and Shakhtersk apply to KFU. “It is mostly those who came to their relatives here in Kazan,” he said, “We enroll refugees in public quota for Crimea; there are 40 federal budgetary places. Besides refugees, 8 Crimeans have used this opportunity that will be open till August 20.”
According to the Responsible Secretary refugees are interviewed in Russian, whereas other subjects are traditionally tested.
