The talks were held during a business lunch at the Institute of Management, Economics and Finance.
Rector Gafurov spoke in brief about the University's potential and then asked if there is a chance to establish an ACCA education center at KFU. Master students in Audit and Financial Management can already visit the courses that cover some of the elements of the relevant subjects. IMEF acquired ACCA accreditation in 2015, so local students can receive credits for some of the ACCA exams for their studies at the University.
Afra Sajjad answered that ACCA is not engaged in education per se but mentioned that the organization would be glad to provide assistance in KFU curriculum adaptation to the Association’s latest requirements.
Director of IMEF Nayilya Bagautdinova said that the two sides have discussed the possible accreditation of the second program – Financial Analysis.
Ms. Sajjad also presented two lectures today – one for students and one for academics of IMEF. The latter touched on the exam program changes. ACCA exams are well-known for their stringent requirements and ethical standards.
Dr. Gafurov used this opportunity to confirm that the University also applies much effort in providing fair and unbiased testing environment throughout the educational process. That includes information infrastructure, peer exchange with colleagues from other universities during exam sessions, and other measures. Such an approach, of course, can help students in their preparations for ACCA tests as well.
