A delegation from Kazan continues its various activities in Japan this week.
Also present at the cooperation talks from the KFU’s side were Vice-Rector Dmitry Tayursky and Director of the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology Andrey Kiyasov. Vice-President of KU Yamamoto Hiroshi joined the negotiations.
In his greeting Rector Gafurov mentioned that Kanazawa University is actually the oldest Japanese partner of KFU. RIKEN Institute is another strategic partner. Former President of RIKEN Noyori Ryoji is Doctor Honoris Causa of Kazan University. KFU, RIKEN and Juntendo University jointly established a medical simulation center on the premises of the latter institution in October 2015.
After the meeting Russian guests took part in a roundtable titled «Education and Research in Medicine in Kazan and Kanazawa» and visited schools of medicine and pharmacy. Cooperation in medical engineering was discussed. All the major medical departments and centers of Kanazawa joined the events.
Later during the visit KFU and RIKEN plan to sign a new strategic partnership agreement.
