French Language Resource Center opened, Science of the Future conference closed, and colleagues from Kazakhstan visited.
Another resource center was established at Kazan University this week. This time it was the long awaited French Language Center. The ceremony was visited by Honorary Consul of France in Kazan Andrey Yershov.
The Center aims to provide training in French language to all the students and inhabitants of Kazan. It will also accumulate and distribute all the necessary information about fellowships, internships, and career opportunities in France and other Francophone countries for the students. Naturally, the Center also plans to hold various cultural events. For instance, this meeting was visited by writer Jean Paul Monguin.
2nd Science of the Future conference wrapped up on Friday, September 23rd. The forum, according to the prevailing opinion, turned out to be very successful. Rector Ilshat Gafurov encouraged all the participants to cooperate with Kazan University. As we have mentioned, a regular megagrant competition was held, and one grant (in physical chemistry) will be wired to KFU.
A delegation from Nazarbayev University visited KFU on September 23rd. This young university specializes in medicine, so the guests were very interested in the University Clinic and its integration into University’s administrative and research activities. Matters of teacher education were also discussed. Rector Gafurov talked about how Kazan University plans to capitalize on the latest acquisitions and changes.
