Kazan Federal University, RIKEN and Regional Clinical Oncology Dispensary (RCOD) signed a trilateral memorandum of intent on September, 27.
The signees were Ilshat Gafurov, KFU Rector, Yoshihide Hayashizaki, Director of the RIKEN Preventive Medicine & Diagnosis Innovation Program, and Rusytem Khasanov, C.E.O. of Regional Clinical Oncology Dispensary of the Ministry of Health of Tatarstan.
The memorandum comprises deepening of joint researches in medicine and genomics, outlining the areas of further cooperation, assisting the implementation of joint research programs, promoting exchange programs for scientists, technical experts, students and postgraduates, and organizing joint academic events like scientific seminars, workshops, and symposiums aimed to develop research communities of Russia and the Globe.
To encourage scientific cooperation the parties intend to establish a joint laboratory at the premises of Kazan Federal University.
After the signing ceremony, Ilshat Gafurov presented the guests with Kazan University souvenirs and invited them to the celebrations of its 210th anniversary.
