European Youth Forum was opened in the Kazan Federal University Nikolay Lobachevskiy Scientific Library.
This forum was organized by the Centre of European Union VOICES and Kazan Model United Nations Club. 30 young and talented participants came on this forum. For two days they will act as members of simulated Departments of European Committee, representatives of countries-participants. According to organizers, UNO model was used several times for such a role play, but the European Youth Forum with the participation of European experts was organized for the first time.
Participants of political discussions (students from the Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations, Institute of Philology and Arts, Institute of Economics and Finances and the Faculty of Law) started their debates in the form of “round tables” on March, 13. Each participant represented the chosen country – EU member: Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece, France, Germany…
Questions concerning the differences of taxing systems in EU countries, barriers that do not allow to purchase on-line and open accounts in banks in other countries were covered on the meeting.
Invited European expert Doctor Mariusz Sieleski told that he was impressed by knowledge of the delegates.
European forum supposes in its program not only conduction of debates, but also discussion with invited European expert on the topic: “Cooperation with EU as a factor of modernization in Russia” and also a lecture by the Professor from Leiden University (the Netherlands) Andreas Gerits on the topic: “The current crisis of European Union, what does it mean to the European external policy”.
Moreover, creative events will be held in the framework of the forum: contest of poems` declamation on 23 European languages «The Wild Flower Song» and festive evening on languages of European Union “EU Forum festive evening”.
