The new ranking table was published January 30th.
KFU is now 10th among Russian universities and 1,176th in the world – a significant improvement since the last measurements half a year ago.
It's important to note that this became possible to a great extent thanks to the faculty’s efforts. They have filled in their personal pages on the website and have earnestly participated in social network campaigns.
Vice-Rector Marat Safiullin was very active in pushing the University's website overhaul and invited Isidro Aguillo, Head of Webometrics, to Kazan in December 2015.
Some of the steps that led to this success are:
Centralization of all sites on the KPFU domain. This gave about 25% increase in the number of pages listed by Google.
Competition analysis with the help of Ahrefs and Majestic.
Technical tweaks and upgrades helped bring down the number of crashes.
Active social networking and work with media.
Publication activities of the University as a whole.
Working with partner universities and industry.
Our collective goal is to enter the top 100, so there is still much work to be done.
