On the 14th of March a contest in the German language among pupils of the 5th – 6th grades of Kazan schools was held at the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology of the Institute of Philology and Arts of KFU. The contest holding was supported by the City Methodical Centre of the Education Directorate of Kazan-city and Association of Teachers of the German Language of the Republic of Tatarstan (DLV). This event was organized in the framework of the V city Festival of experts in foreign languages, devoted to worthy welcome to Universiade-2013.
The contest was opened by Galina Victorovna Tarasova, the Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, a resource specialist. Galina Victorovna thanked authorities of the Institute of Philology and Arts for support they had rendered and told the audience about arrangements being prepared in the run-up to the Universiade, as well as about a program of the Festival of experts in foreign languages and the contest winner awarding procedure. After that Doctor of Philological Sciences, Head of the Department of German Philology, Ms. Kul’kova Mariya Alexandrovna, delivered a welcome speech. Ms. Kul’kova emphasized the necessity to study German taking into consideration globalization processes activization in the world community. She also told the audience about broadening of contacts the Republic of Tatarstan had with German-speaking countries and widening of scientific ties of Kazan University with German institutes of higher education. Further on the Associate Professor of the Department of German Philology, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Ms. Zaripova Alphiya Nailevna, familiarized participants with contest task fulfillment procedure and rules of contest work execution. Young experts in the German language had to demonstrate their best knowledge, attainments and skills in four types of learning activity – audition, writing, lexical-and-grammar exercises doing, as well as regional geography-related task fulfillments. Each contest participant got a Certificate of Participant of the V city Festival of experts in foreign languages.
Recall that the Festival was opened on March 12, 2013, and will be held till March 21, 2013. The contest in the German language among pupils of the 7th – 8th grades will be held this week, on the 19th of March, on the basis of school No. 72 profound in the German language study, at which specialists of the Department of German Philology will traditionally act as experts and jury members.
Awarding of winners and prize-winners of the contest in the German language will be organized at the solemn festival closing ceremony at school No. 167, at 11 AM on the 22nd of March. We wish all the contest participants success and new achievements in the German language studying!
