On February, 2 more than 300 people gathered in KFU branch in Elabuga. There was organized Doors Open Day. Geography of participants was really vast: school-leavers came from 20 Tatarstan districts. Vivid interest was even shown by school-leavers from neighboring republics: Udmurtiya and Bashkortastan.
Director of the Institute Elena Merzon told school-leavers and their parents about various interesting and fresh facts about students from KFU branch. So, students appear to be mobile (they participate in republican and Russian competitions, scientific conferences, creative events); positive (for different achievements they are awarded with theater, aquapark, ski resort tickets and trips to Krasnodar region); ambitious (they receive not only academic scholarships, but scholarship of RF President).
All necessary amenities are created in KFU Institute to motivate students to better academic success and self-realization: new research and training labs, modern lingaphone classrooms. In total, more than 80 mln of rubles were invested in the University development: there were renovated classrooms, facilities of student health-improving camp “Burevestnik”, dormitories, there was purchased new equipment and academic literature.
Moreover, this year there were launched new specialties on pedagogic education: teacher of Chemistry, teacher of primary school, teacher of additional education, teacher of Social studies. In the Institute were organized English, German and Chinese courses.
After the general meeting school-leavers had meeting with deans who told them about their faculties. Furthermore, guests had tour in museums, labs and classrooms.
It is worth mentioning that the most popular faculties (according to number of school-leavers on meeting) were: Faculty of Economics and Management, Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, Faculty of History and Law.
