The celebration was attended by the Chairman of the State Council of Tatarstan, Farid Mukhametshin; President of the Academy of Science, Ahmet Mazgarov; Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan, Engel Fattakhov, Chairman of Kazan Center of Russian Academy of Sciences, Oleg Sinyashin; KFU Rector Ilshat Gafurov and others.
Farid Mukhametshin reminded the guests of the complicated beginnings of the Academy back in the 1990s and the success it has acquired over 20 years, the dreams it has accomplished. The Chairman of the State Council of Tatarstan handed state awards to the scholars who have made significant contributions to the Russian Science.
Scholars of KFU also received noteworthy recognition for their achievements in 2013:
In Mathematics category: Deputy Director of the Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies, Victor Banderov;
In Pedagogy and Psychology category: Associate Professor of the Department of Educational Technologies at the Institute of Physics, Guzel Garnaeva;
In Economics and Management category: Junior researcher of Human Management Department at the Institute of Management and Territorial Development, Julia Kolesnikova;
In Physics category: Junior researcher of Theoretical Physics Department at the Institute of Physics, Eduard Baybekov;
In Medicine and Biology category: Senior lecturer of Microbiology Department at the Institute of Fundamental Science and Biology, Dina Yarullina, and associate professor of the Department Pavel Zelenichin.
The traditional public lecture was delivered by Lenar Tagirov, Head of the Solid-State Physics Department.
Seven scholars were awarded the title of corresponding members of the Academy of Science and Ilshat Gafurov was among them.
