Department of Linguistic and Intercultural Communication was formed in 2013 on the basis of two departments: Department of Foreign Languages and Cultures and Department of translation and translation studies of the Division of Romance and Germanic Philology.
Academic staff of the department includes 17 members, 10 of them have degrees.
The department specializes in the theory and technology of bilingual education on the basis of Tatar language.
The area of expertise of the members of the department covers such aspects as comparative and contrastive studies, pedagogical aspects of bilingual education.
The department provides postgraduate studies in the specialty "Comparative-historical, Typological and Contrastive linguistics" (10.02.20). The supervisor of postgraduate studies is prof. Fanuza Tarasova.
