The department of choreographic Art was created in 2009 and trains highly professional specialists-choreographers, who successfully work in the multiprofile dancing groups, opera and ballet theatres, folk dance ensembles, folk ballet theatres, Art and Culture colleges, schools of Art and choreographic studious.
One of the main tasks of the Department is the combination of the classical heritage and the modern movements in the choreography. In addition to the possession of teaching methodology, the graduates gain the necessary knowledge for solution of organizational issues, essential for creative teams’ creation.
The following highly qualified specialists work in the department: Ch.R. Zakirova, the Chair holder, graduate of choreography department of State Institute of Theatre Arts (SITA), Honoured Worker of RT; D.M. Gaynetdin, Honoured Artist, Associate Professor; F.F.Ismagilov, Honorable Man of Art of RT, Associate Professor; D. M. Davletshina, Honoured Worker of Culture of RT, Associate Professor and others.
The Department teachers constantly improve their professional skills, strive to put state-of-the-art developments in the area of choreographic pedagogic into the academic activity. The monographies, author’s programs, study guides, methodological study guides on classical, folk and stage dancing etc.
The teachers lavishly give their knowledge, great experience of artistic, pedagogic and choreographic activity to the students. In the process of training would-be choreographs and teacher-choreographs study Choreography Art; samples of classical heritage, methodology of teaching classical, folk and stage, historic and every day life dancing; modern movements in choreography; history of choreography Art, Theatre, Music and Graphic Arts, etc.; the lessons on the subjects of `Russian people’s folk dancing`, sport and ballroom dancing, Yoga, step, art-management, etc.
Students advance their skills of performance, doing concert and stage practical training in the performances of choreographic teams: the ensemble of dancing, which has already become awardee in the All-Soviet Union National Folk Festival, `Student spring` festival and others (D.M. Gaynetdin, the Head); many of the students combine study with the professional performance in the quality of artists and soloists of the leading municipal `Kazan` dance ensemble.
